A place to brain dump my proposal for a backdrop for Alt Summit 2024.

Mid-Century Daydreaming

Full Narrative:

Inspired by Palm Spring’s mid-century modern architecture, my proposed backdrop will highlight the iconic beauty of the city. The quilted backdrop I’m envisioning will have abstract architectural details with clean modern lines and bright bold colors. It will be the perfect backdrop for presenters and photos at the summit.

Unlike my current body of architectural work, this piece would be in the abstract, inspired by many buildings and not a portrait of a specific building. A combination of geometric elements tied together with color. Intricate roof lines, patterns, and textures found throughout the homes of Palm Springs will guide me in creating this piece. Pulling colors from the natural surroundings; the sky, desert, and mountains, but also from the buildings, including the Saguaro. Oranges, yellows, blues, greens, bright pinks all combine to create a fun color palette.

Attendees will love the vibe of this backdrop. From first glance it will look like a beautiful colorway, but at closer inspection they will see elements that mimic their surroundings. My hope with this piece is to inspire the attendees to see more of the details within their surroundings. While also dreaming of a bigger picture.
